چکیده

Monogeneans are common ectoparasitic flatworms of marine fish. The diplectanid monogenean Diplectanum aequans (Wegener, 1857) (Diplectanidae) is one the most important ectoparasites in wild and cultured European sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax (Linnaeus, 1758) worldwide. This parasitic species cause severe pathological damages gills death infected bass. Presently, there no information on molecular data D. from Turkish coasts. In present study, monogeneans were collected (L.) Black Sea (FAO area 37.4.2) Aegean 37.1.3) coasts Turkey, morphologically identified, genetically characterized by DNA sequencing 28S rRNA 18S fragments. diplectanids unambiguously identified as based detailed morphological features sequence characterization partial genes. prevalence mean intensity 100% 15.1, respectively. study reports first (28S rRNA) evidence new sequences for isolated characterized. can be used to resolve phylogenetic positions Diplectanidae Mediterranean Sea.

Antigenic activity of Diplectanum aequans (Monogenea) in sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) held under different oxygenation conditions

The influence of oxygenation on the immune response of sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) to the branchial parasite Diplectanum aequans was studied in the ‘Il Padule’ fish-farm in Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto, Italy). The protein fractions of the parasite responsible for the immune response in the fish host were detected, and the sea bass stalled in hyperoxygenation conditions demonstrated ...

Skin mucus proteome map of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax).

Skin mucus is the first barrier of fish defence. Proteins from skin mucus of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) were identified by 2DE followed by LC-MS/MS. From all the identified proteins in the proteome map, we focus on the proteins associated with several immune pathways in fish. Furthermore, the real-time PCR transcript levels in skin are shown. Proteins found include apolipoprotein ...

Morphological malformations of the sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax): Comparison between hormone injected and non-injected fish

In this study, fertilization, hatching and deformation rate of the eggs, and larvae obtained from hormone injected (HI) and non-injected broodstock (NHI), were determined. In the experiment, no differences were observed in the groups’ fertilization rates (p>0.05). Hatching rate was found higher in the HI group (p < 0.05). During the experiment, malformations such as spinal fluid accumulation, s...
